Pre-Season Outlook
McLaurin had one of the emptier 1,000-yard seasons you'll ever see in 2023, needing 659 routes (t-4th) and 132 targets (19th) in 17 games to put up a 79-1,002-4 receiving line in an offense that attempted a league-high 636 passes. It was his fourth straight season with 120-134 targets, 77-87 catches, 1,000-1,200 receiving yards and 4-5 TDs, but McLaurin had career lows for yards per target (7.6), yards per catch (12.7), yards per route (1.52) and yards per game (58.8). It was his least valuable season for fantasy and also his least efficient, all while playing in a pass-heavy offense during his age-27/28 campaign. The good news is that former offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy and quarterback Sam Howell are gone, replaced by Kliff Kingsbury and No. 2 overall pick Jayden Daniels. That's not exactly an ideal setup, but it at least looks better than last year's dump-off parade, and McLaurin remains a safe bet to lead the team in targets unless he misses a bunch of games.

Analysis: It took until the fourth quarter, but McLaurin hauled in just enough production to reach 1,000 yards for the fourth straight season with 1,002. His 79 catches on the year also put him over 75 for the fourth straight campaign, a remarkable streak of consistency considering the revolving door the Commanders have had at quarterback during his career. McLaurin recorded four catches on six targets for 61 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 27-10 loss to the 49ers.
Analysis: McLaurin was one of the few bright spots in the Washington offense, though his production came primarily on two plays on the same drive.
